The Federal Government has started paying the September 2026 TVET stipend. Trainees are getting ₦30,000, and the first credits showed up on Friday, October 16, 2026.
Trainees have been sharing bank alerts online. The alerts carry a reference like “TVETStipendSep2026”. So far, the credits are coming from Zenith Bank, Polaris Bank and Sterling Bank customers.
Not every trainee has been paid yet. A few alerts online don’t mean everybody has got theirs.

How to check if your September TVET stipend has entered your account
Open your bank app and look at your recent transactions. You are looking for ₦30,000 with a TVET stipend reference on it. If it’s there, that’s your September stipend.
Nothing yet? Just wait small, the payment is still going out. Keep watching the official TVET updates. And if you have to call your bank, use only the customer care number on its official website or the back of your card.
Never give your BVN, PIN or OTP to anybody who says they can help you get your stipend faster.
About the ₦30,000 amount and the old ₦22,500 amount
When applications for the second cohort opened on April 13, 2026, the stipend on offer was ₦22,500 a month. The credits coming in now are ₦30,000. Some Batch B trainees also got ₦30,000 for July.
So if your alert shows ₦30,000, you’re not seeing things. If the amount is different, ask your training centre.
What is still pending for TVET trainees: July and August stipends
These updates came out of a stakeholders’ meeting on Friday, October 9, 2026. The Federal Ministry of Education, NELFUND, NBTE and TVET centre managers were there. (If you don’t know what NELFUND does, our post on NELFUND student loan and scholarships in Nigeria explains it.)
The ministry plans to pay the outstanding July and August stipends together with September for eligible trainees who haven’t been paid yet. A supplementary list is being worked on for this. No date has been given.
You must have reached 65 per cent attendance for July and August to qualify for the outstanding money.
- Six training centres had failed payments for July and August. They’ll be asked for other account numbers so the money can go out again.
- Remita problems delayed some July stipends. Those trainees are on the supplementary payment too.
- Got a waiver for duplicate fingerprints? Your July and August attendance is being checked by hand, and the minister will decide on your payment at or around the next stakeholders’ meeting.
About the starter packs for TVET trainees
Starter packs are coming too, for both Batch A and Batch B. Trainees who qualify should see it on their dashboards soon. The packs are being prepared for delivery to training centres, and distribution is expected from this week into next week. There is no confirmed date.
Not everybody gets one. Eligibility decides who does. Trainees eligible for the August or September stipends are among those expected to get theirs shortly.
So log in to your TVET dashboard and look for a starter pack notice. Then ask your training centre how and when to collect it.
