The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has fixed Wednesday, November 4, 2026, as the start date for the 2026 Batch C Stream 2 orientation course. The Federal Government has also approved a higher feeding budget for corps members in camp. That one is expected to start in 2027, not now.
Dates for NYSC 2026 Batch C Stream 2 orientation course
NYSC announced this on Friday, October 2, 2026, in a statement signed by Caroline Embu, its Director of Information and Public Relations. NYSC writes it as Batch C Stream II. Same thing.
| What is happening | Date |
|---|---|
| Orientation course starts | Wednesday, November 4, 2026 |
| Registration of corps members | Wednesday, November 4 to midnight on Friday, November 6, 2026 |
| Swearing-in ceremony | Friday, November 6, 2026 |
| Closing ceremony | Tuesday, November 24, 2026 |
The camps will open the same day in all 36 states and the FCT, Abuja. You’ll spend about three weeks there.
Registration at camp ends at midnight on Friday, November 6. Go by the dates on your call-up documents and don’t leave it for the last day.
From today, October 13, you have 22 days before camp opens. Batch C Stream 1 is still in camp right now. It started on September 30 and ends on October 20, so Stream 2 follows about two weeks after.
About the NYSC feeding budget increase for corps members
The NYSC Director-General, Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu, said the Federal Government has approved an increase in the budget for feeding corps members during orientation course. He said it while speaking to Batch C Stream 1 corps members at the Obubra orientation camp in Cross River State. The Budget Office has been told about the upward review, and he said it should take effect next year.
Here is what we know so far:
- A higher feeding budget for corps members while they are in orientation camp.
- Expected to start next year, 2027.
- The amount was not stated, whether per day or per meal.
Will the feeding budget increase affect Batch C Stream 2 corps members
Most likely not. The new money is expected from 2027, and Stream 2 camp opens in November 2026. So you should expect the same feeding arrangement in camp that earlier batches had.
That is how it reads from the announcement. NYSC has not said anything about Stream 2 in particular, so if they update it, we’ll update this post.
NYSC monthly allowance and camp feeding budget are not the same thing
These two are easy to mix up. The feeding budget is what NYSC spends on food for corps members during the three weeks in camp. The monthly allowance is what you get during the service year itself.
The monthly allowance is ₦77,000. NYSC started paying that rate with the March 2025 payout, after the old ₦33,000. Nothing in this new announcement touches the ₦77,000.
Travel advice from NYSC for Batch C Stream 2 prospective corps members
NYSC has told prospective corps members to avoid night journeys to camp and to use designated motor parks. Nafiu repeated it to the Stream 1 corps members. Avoid travelling after 6 p.m. If the day runs out on the road, stop and continue the next morning.
He also warned against resting in public places or sleeping in groups at filling stations, because it makes corps members easy to spot. If you ever feel threatened, he said to go to a military, police or DSS office.
How to print your NYSC call-up letter for Batch C Stream 2
NYSC had not given a date for call-up letters when it announced the camp date. Once they are out, log in at portal.nysc.org.ng and use the “Print Call-Up Letter” option on your dashboard.
Use the official portal only. Don’t hand your details to anybody who says they can get your call-up letter faster.
Things to do before camp and after your NYSC service year
Nafiu also told the Stream 1 corps members to spend wisely, avoid showing off and save part of their money. He told them to learn skills that can bring in income during and after service.
