Governor Peter Mbah has approved the recruitment of more than 6,500 teachers, technical staff, and admin workers into Enugu State’s public schools, mostly to man the Smart Green Schools. Send a single PDF of your documents to ensubebofficial@outlook.com, or drop hard copies at the ENSUBEB Chairman’s office in Enugu. Deadline is Friday, August 14, 2026.

If you’ve been on the lookout for a government job in Enugu State, this one is worth your attention. Governor Peter Mbah has just approved the recruitment of over 6,500 teachers, technical staff, and administrative workers into the state’s public primary and secondary schools. It’s coming through the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), and the main push is to staff the state’s 267 Smart Green Schools.

How to apply for this

This is the part you actually want, so let’s get straight to it.

There are two ways to submit your application:

  • Hard copy: Take your documents directly to the Office of the Executive Chairman, Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB), Enugu State.
  • Electronic: Combine all your documents into one PDF file and send it to ENSUBEB’s official email, ensubebofficial@outlook.com.

That’s the whole process. There’s no separate online portal you need to register on for this round, so don’t fall for random “ENSUBEB recruitment portal” links you find while searching online. A good number of those are leftover from previous years and have nothing to do with this exercise. Stick strictly to the email and address above.

Deadline for submission is Friday, August 14, 2026. Try not to wait until the last few days. Email inboxes and offices tend to get busy close to a deadline, and you don’t want your application delayed because everyone rushed at once.

Who can apply for this recruitment

For teaching roles, you need at least one of these:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed)
  • A Bachelor’s Degree or HND in a relevant field, plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE)
  • NCE in the subject you want to teach

You also need to be registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), or at least show that your registration is in progress. If you haven’t started that process yet, this is your sign to get on it now, since TRCN registration can take some time to go through.

Not everyone applying needs a degree, though. There are also vacancies for OND and SSCE/WASSCE holders, mainly for technical and administrative positions.

A couple more requirements to keep in mind: Degree and HND applicants must have a valid NYSC discharge or exemption certificate, and every applicant, regardless of the role, needs to show basic ICT proficiency. That last one makes sense once you consider that the Smart Green Schools are built around a tech-driven learning setup, so ENSUBEB genuinely wants people who can work with computers, not just people who say they can.

This are the Documents to prepare

Get these ready before you start putting your application together:

  • A formal application letter
  • Your CV
  • Copies of your academic and professional certificates
  • Birth certificate, or a sworn declaration of age if you don’t have one
  • Working phone number and email address

Arrange everything properly before you submit. ENSUBEB has made it clear that false information or fake documents will get an application disqualified outright, so there’s no point trying anything funny with your credentials.

Why this recruitment matters

Enugu State has run teacher recruitment exercises before that dragged on for months without much clarity for applicants. This one is different in a good way. The deadline is fixed, the application channel is straightforward, and there’s no confusing multi-step portal registration to deal with. That alone should make the process less stressful for anyone applying.

If you’re going for this, don’t procrastinate. Sort out your TRCN registration if you haven’t, name your PDF file properly instead of leaving it as “Scan001” or something equally unhelpful, and send everything in well before August 14. Applying early also means you’re not competing with a last-minute rush of submissions landing in ENSUBEB’s inbox at once.
