JAMB has given a fresh deadline to candidates who still have not responded to old admission offers. The board says anyone with a pending offer from the 2020 to 2025 admission cycles must accept or reject it before August 31, 2026. If you don’t, you risk losing the offer for good.
What JAMB said about this deadline
JAMB announced this through a post on its official X page on August 17, 2026. Part of the post told candidates to “check their admission status and take action before the deadline.” So this isn’t about this year’s fresh admissions alone, it’s specifically for people who have an old, unresolved offer sitting in their JAMB profile from any of the past admission cycles going back to 2020.
How to check and respond to your admission offer
If this affects you, here’s what to do:
- Log into your JAMB profile.
- Go to CAPS, that’s the Central Admissions Processing System, the same place JAMB uses to show you any offer from an institution.
- Check if there’s an offer waiting for your response.
- Accept it if you still want the admission, or reject it if you don’t.
JAMB warned that candidates should not wait until the last day. If you leave it too late and August 31 passes without you accepting or rejecting, you could lose the opportunity attached to that offer completely.
