KASU has reopened its Online Post-UTME screening portal for one week only, from today, Wednesday 22nd July, to Wednesday 29th July 2026. It’s for 2026 UTME candidates who picked KASU as first choice and never completed screening. Fee is ₦2,000. Candidates still waiting for WAEC results can apply too. Full cut-off scores and application steps are below.
Every admission season, someone writes in asking if there’s still a way to get their screening done after missing the deadline. Most times, my answer is “sorry, oga, that ship don sail.” Today, for once, I get to tell some of you different news.
Kaduna State University reopened its Online Post-UTME portal this morning, and it stays open until next Wednesday, 29th July 2026. If you sat the 2026 UTME, put KASU as first choice, and for one reason or another never got round to screening, this is your window.
This “Last Chance” Line Isn’t Just Talk
KASU’s notice doesn’t hedge. Management says the portal will not reopen again because of admission technicalities. Translation: JAMB’s CAPS timeline is closing in, and universities have to lock down their admission lists before that window shuts. Once KASU submits, latecomers are stuck till next session.
So if you’re the type who reads “final notice” and still assumes there’s room to maneuver, this one genuinely doesn’t have that room. Set a reminder for Tuesday night, not Wednesday morning.
Who Can Actually Apply
Three conditions, and you need all three:
You sat for the 2026 UTME and chose KASU as your first-choice institution. You meet the minimum JAMB aggregate for the specific programme you’re applying to (table below). And your O’Level status doesn’t have to be settled yet, KASU explicitly allows candidates still waiting on results to screen now and sort the paperwork after.
Still Waiting on Your WAEC Result? Don’t Let That Stop You
This is the part a lot of candidates miss when they skim these notices. If your WAEC or NECO result hasn’t dropped yet, you’re not locked out. KASU’s eligibility criteria say candidates awaiting O’Level results can still go through the screening. You just won’t be able to complete your final admission until the result is out and uploaded on JAMB’s CAPS portal — but the screening itself, don’t let a missing result slip stop you from applying now.
Check Your Cut-Off Score
KASU listed cut-offs for 70 programmes, which is a lot to scroll through, so I’ve grouped them by score. Each group also shows what’s needed if you’re applying through Direct Entry (DE).

If your score doesn’t reach your first-choice programme, keep reading, there’s a way around that too.
How To Apply
Step 1 — Check eligibility. Go to applicant.safapply.com/kasu, pick Post-UTME or DE, and enter your JAMB registration number. If you’re eligible, you’ll see “More Information,” then “Apply Now.”
Step 2 — Create your account. New applicants click “Create New Account.” If you started before, just log in.
Step 3 — Pay the screening fee. It’s ₦2,000, non-refundable, plus bank charges. Confirm your details before you pay — once it’s gone, it’s gone.
Step 4 — Fill your bio-data and upload documents. Your O’Level results (up to two sittings, if you have them), A’Level results if you’re a DE candidate, and scanned copies of your NIN slip or National ID, birth certificate, indigene certificate, 2026 JAMB slip, and JAMB result slip. Your passport photo needs a white background, must be in colour, and can’t be more than 1MB — a blurry or wrong-format photo can invalidate the whole application, so don’t rush this bit.
Step 5 — Submit. Tick the agreement box, preview everything one more time, then submit. Print your Acknowledgement Slip immediately after and keep it somewhere safe.
The Detail Most People Skip: You Can List a Backup Programme
Buried in the application form is an option to list alternative programmes in order of priority, in case your first choice doesn’t work out. If your score is borderline for your dream course, use this. It costs nothing extra and could be the difference between getting into KASU this session or waiting another year.
After You Submit, One More Thing
Completing KASU’s screening doesn’t automatically finish the job. JAMB still requires you to upload your O’Level results on the CAPS portal before you can be considered for final admission. Do both — don’t stop at KASU’s own form and assume you’re done.
Also, double check the email and phone number you enter. KASU said clearly that all official communication goes through those channels, and wrong contact details have cost candidates their admission before.
