NYSC has confirmed the date in a statement from Caroline Embu, the scheme’s Director of Information and Public Relations, on July 20. The exercise runs nationwide, in all 36 states and the FCT, and wraps up August 25, three weeks, same as every batch before it.
What to Do Before You Travel
Call-up numbers are already on the portal. Log into your dashboard, retrieve yours, and hold onto it firmly, camp officials ask for it at registration before anything else happens. Call-up letters follow shortly, and urs will list exactly which camp u’re assigned to.
No wait until the last week to sort your documents. Camps fill their intake early, and showing up without your letter or call-up number means standing in the “problem” line while everyone else settles into their bunks.
The Director General’s Message
Brigadier General Olakunle Nafiu congratulated the mobilised corps members on finishing their studies, a line every NYSC DG says, but earned all the same after years of exams and JAMB stress finally paying off.
His bigger point was about travel. He asked corps members to avoid night travel and stick to safety guidelines on the way to camp. Nigerian roads at night are not where you want to test your luck two days before camp starts.
What Happened With Stream I
Batch B Stream I already ran its own camp cycle, from June 10 to June 30 nationwide, except in Niger State, where camp damage forced organisers to move the exercise to Kubwa, Abuja, from July 7 to July 27. If you’re posted to Niger State this stream, it’s worth confirming with your state coordinator whether that camp has reopened or Kubwa is still hosting.
For everyone else, camps are running as normal. Use the next two weeks to get ready, not to panic.

Three weeks of drills, lectures, and camp routine end with your Primary Assignment posting. That’s when the actual service year starts, and where you land can shape the next twelve months more than camp ever will.
