About the JAMB NIN alignment service
Your name or date of birth on JAMB’s side may not be the same as what NIMC has for your NIN. That mismatch can cause wahala when your records are checked for admission. NIN alignment is the service JAMB uses to line the two up again, so both say the same thing.
JAMB says the service covers details like names, dates of birth, gender, and state and LGA of origin. The full list of fields you can correct is inside the JAMB Explained video, so check it before you start.
How to apply for the JAMB NIN alignment service
- Go to NIMC first and correct the error. Use the self-service modification portal at selfservicemodification.nimc.gov.ng, or visit an official NIMC centre.
- Check your NIN record and make sure the change has fully reflected. Not showing yet? Don’t move to the JAMB step, because JAMB can reject applications that are incomplete or inconsistent.
- Gather documents that match your updated details. JAMB’s examples are a birth certificate, an affidavit, an LGA certificate or your NIN slip.
- Watch the JAMB Explained video attached to the announcement on @jamb_hq. It shows the fields you can correct, the document uploads and the verification steps.
- Go through every detail, pick all the corrections you need, and submit once.
Use only jamb.gov.ng, efacility.jamb.gov.ng and JAMB’s verified social media pages for this. JAMB says to avoid third-party agents.
There’s no closing date, so start the NIMC part today. JAMB says to correct your NIMC record before you apply, and that’s the step you can’t skip.
What to do after you submit your JAMB NIN alignment application
Watch your JAMB profile, phone number and email for updates. Submitting is not approval. JAMB says not to assume anything until you get official confirmation.
