The official CDCFIB recruitment portal is https://recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) uses it to recruit into four agencies: the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS) and the Federal Fire Service (FFS).

Latest status (updated October 16, 2026): No new application round has been announced. The last one, the 2024/2025 exercise, took applications from July 14 to August 10, 2025, and it has since moved to its final stages. The Board takes applications only when it announces a round.

About the CDCFIB recruitment portal

The CDCFIB recruitment goes through one portal for all four agencies. You pick the agency you want inside the application, and the same portal is where shortlisted candidates check their status later.

Apply to only one of the four agencies. Multiple applications lead to disqualification.

The Board says the whole process is free. It says you should pay nothing for shortlisting, venue allocation, document upload, access to a screening venue, or final selection.

Requirements for the CDCFIB recruitment (all cadres)

  • You must be a Nigerian by birth.
  • Age: 18 to 35.
  • Height of at least 1.65m for men and 1.60m for women. Men also needed a chest of at least 0.87m.
  • Medically and mentally fit, with a medical certificate from a government hospital.
  • Good character, no criminal record, and free from financial embarrassment.
  • Computer literacy is an advantage, but it isn’t compulsory.

Documents for the CDCFIB recruitment application

Get these scanned before the portal opens:

  • Birth certificate
  • NIN slip
  • Indigene letter
  • Your school certificates

Upload them as JPEG or PNG files, and each file must not be bigger than 100KB. Check the size of each scan before the portal opens, so you’re not fixing files at the last minute.

Steps to apply on recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng

  1. Open recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng. Type it yourself, and don’t tap a link a stranger sent you.
  2. Choose the agency you want and your highest qualification, then browse the openings and open the application form.
  3. Enter your NIN and a phone number for verification.
  4. Fill in your personal details and upload your documents.
  5. Fill in your education history and upload your certificates.
  6. Check everything, submit before the deadline, then print your application slip or find the copy in your email.

If you start the form and the portal goes down, log back in later and finish it. That is what the Board told people in 2025 when the portal was briefly suspended.

How to log in and check your status on the CDCFIB recruitment portal

Log in at recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng with the details you used when you registered, such as your NIN, phone number and application number.

If you are shortlisted for a stage, the portal lets you choose a venue near you, a date and a time, and then print your invitation letter. Follow the dress code in that letter. Only shortlisted candidates are allowed into the venue.

The Board says it does not and will not send out emails. Everything about your status comes through the portal.

How the last CDCFIB recruitment round went

More than 1.9 million people applied in the last round for 30,000 vacancies. That is more than 63 applicants for every slot.

How to know when the next CDCFIB recruitment opens

In the last round, the Board named cdcfib.gov.ng as its official website and told applicants to ignore other portals. The notice came first, and the portal opened later.

So watch recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng and cdcfib.gov.ng. If a date reaches you only through a social media post, confirm it on those two sites first.

How to avoid fake CDCFIB recruitment portals and notices

The Board has been clear on a few things:

  • It doesn’t send recruitment emails. If an email says you have been shortlisted, it didn’t come from the Board.
  • It doesn’t charge for anything, at any stage.
  • Anybody who asks you for money, in any form, should be reported to the nearest security agency or a person in authority.

Use the portal alone for news about your application. Don’t give your login details to an agent, whatever they promise.
